Shmowder is a type of cure in Pathologic 2. If consumed by the player character or issued to infected patients, it will completely cure them of Sand Plague. If used by the player, their health will reduce to 10% of its current value.

Shmowders can be obtained through trading with a Teensy, trading at the Dead Item Shop, and collected from rare children's caches. During Act 2 (Day 2 07:30 - Day 4 07:30), a Shmowder can be obtained by playing a game of Hide-&-Seek, during which children offer especially lucrative trades involving nuts and the aforementioned drug. During Act 3 (Day 4 07:30 - Day 7 07:30), a Shmowder can be obtained by trading a Leash to a Doghead named Maera found in the Nutshell.

The game of Hide-&-Seek and Maera's trade are the only guaranteed sources of Shmowders. All others occur via chance. According to the game's files, Teensys have a 10% chance to carry Shmowder, and rare children's caches have a 20% chance to carry Shmowder.

Notes

• Shmowders take up 1x1 inventory space and stack up to 5 times.
• Though Shmowders are considered very dangerous and possibly deadly, use on a NPC will have no drastic effects, and will cure them of the Plague.
• When trading with a Teensy, Shmowders are valued at 35. However, during the hide and seek game during Act 2, one of the children will value it at 5. The Fellow Traveller values Shmowders at 40.

Old "Shmowder" is a type of cure in Pathologic 2. It can completely cure the player or an infected NPC of the Sand Plague. It can only be earned by entering a reward code received by supporting the Pathologic 2 Kickstarter.

It resembles the Shmowder design from the original Pathologic. It is functionally the same as a regular Shmowder.

Acquisition

In order to find the Old Shmowder, the player must have a Kickstarter backer code for the event. Once entered and using a new save file, the player will find a note in the cabinet in the Haruspex's Lair directing them to the Warehouses. They will find several children who say they wish to capture an elusive cat. In order to do so, they need some Milk.

After pouring some Milk into a bowl, the children thank the Haruspex and offer him the Old Shmowder.

Shmowder is a type of cure in Pathologic. It can completely cure the Sand Plague from the player or an infected NPC.

Aside from quests, Shmowders can be obtained by trading with Teensies who value Shmowders at 10 and by looting infected houses.

When used by the player, the Plague will be completely cured and health will be reduced down to only 5 points. If health was less than 5 when the Shmowder was taken, it will not change. Use on a NPC will cure them of the Plague and have no other drastic effects on their health.
