Twyrine is an item in Pathologic 2. It can be consumed to mark points on the map, leading to events, points of interest or Children's stashes.

Twyrine is a drink that has long been made out of the twyre of the Steppe. Although it has become fashionable outside of the Steppe, it is not possible to standardize recipes for the making of twyrine. Additionally, the recipes are closely guarded by the Kin, though some locals such as Bad Grief and Andrey Stamatin look to create their own recipes to sell. These illegitimate variations are referred to as “black twyrine”.

Quotes

A herbal infusion. Drink to reveal places and events hidden from naked eyes.
Haruspex's Hover details
The Town calls to me. But it's hard to hear over my own thoughts. If I quiet them down, I can sense the pulse of life all over the Town.

Pathologic 2 Alpha Quotes

A herbal infusion. Drink to reveal places and events hidden from naked eyes.
Haruspex's Hover details
The town speaks. It calls to me. But it's hard to hear it over the rustle of my own thoughts. When they're shushed, though, one can sense the pulse of life all over the village.

Notes

  • Twyrine can be used to give a minor immunity boost to other characters. It is however the weakest of all available immunity boosters.
    • Despite this, and despite it's immunity-boosting ability in Pathologic, drinking Twyrine in Pathologic 2 does not impact your immunity.
  • If the player has found all points of interests, such as events or stashes during one day, consuming further Twyrine will have no effect. This is indicated by extra text ("But the town is currently quit. I should try later.") appended to the normal hover description.

"Dragonfly Eye" is an item in Pathologic 2. It can be consumed to mark points on the map, leading to events or boxes of items. It can only be earned by entering a reward code received by supporting the Pathologic 2 Kickstarter. It shares art with the Panacea design from Pathologic: The Marble Nest's 2016 demo, but is functionally the same as regular twyrine.

Quotes

An incredibly rare concoction made of twyre berries. When consumed, it reveals several points of interest in the Town.
Haruspex's Hover details
Twyre berries are rarely picked. Few people ever see this potion. Perhaps fate is thanking me for lending someone assistance in the past?

Twyrine is a drug in Pathologic. As its' description would entail, it essentially fills both the function of a light painkiller as well as an immunity booster. Similarly to the two, a high intake may negatively impact the player's health.

It is created from Twyre herbs and can be purchased in the Broken Heart and in Bad Grief's Nest. The recipe and origin of Twyrine is closely guarded within Steppe culture, despite this, people such as Bad Grief and Andrey Stamatin manufacture and sell Twyrine on their own, much to the kin's dismay.

Quotes

A strong infusion of the oxitocia tvirinum herb. Boosts immunity. Acts as an analgesic, restores strength during sleep. According to elder locals, critical doses of twyrine can alter the effects of infection. Some of the effects of twyrine are still unknown.

Notes

  • The Odonghe in the outskirts of town are visibly angered by the retailing of twyrine within the town, specifically at the Broken Heart. As the Odonghe describe it, they killed their brethren who sold twyrine to Andrey Stamatin, owner of said pub.
  • Despite Patrolmen's trades usually being limited to illegal items, such as crowbars or razors, they will trade Twyrine with the player. In the Haruspex route, it is revealed that Patrolmen in infected districts drink of twyre solutions and elixirs fervently, which is likely the reason for them coveting the item in trade.

Twyrine Extract is a drug in Pathologic. Drinking it will increase immunity but decrease health. Its effects will vary based on which herbs were used to make it.

It can be made by the Haruspex and must be traded for by the Changeling from Andrey Stamatin at the Broken Heart. The Bachelor cannot obtain or use twyrine extracts. The player can choose to follow herbal recipes found throughout the game to make extracts or experiment with their own mixtures.

Quotes

A valuable immunity boosting infusion made of several herbs. Its effect heavily depends on random factors: the types of herbs, the time and place the herbs were gathered, the composition of the herb mix. If all the factors are favorable, it's possible to prepare an infusion that greatly increases immunity and inflicts almost no damage to health.

Herb Properties

Each herb has unique properties which are calculated when making twyrine extracts.

Name Effect
Bloody Twyre 6 Immunity, 6 Health
Black Twyre 6 Immunity, 6 Health
Brown Twyre 20 Immunity, 15 Health
White Whip Each sprig halves resulting health damage
Swevery Each sprig doubles resulting immunity boost

Immunity boost is calculated by adding the effects of twyre herbs together and then doubling based off the amount of swevery. Brown Twyre and Black Twyre work together, while Bloody Twyre works against them.

Health damage is calculated by adding the effects of twyre herbs together and then halving based off the amount of white whip. Black Twyre and Bloody Twyre work together, while Brown Twyre works against them.

Notes

  • Although this item can be spawned into the player inventory using console commands, it cannot be used due to its effects being determined at point of creation based off the herbs that were used. Attempting to hover over a spawned Twyrine Extract will prevent the player from interacting with their inventory with the exception of dropping items.
